2010 Golden Spoke Recipient – Deputy DA Mary Hanlon Stone
Mary Hanlon Stone is a Deputy District DA for LA County. She has handled thousands of cases covering everything from robbery, stalking, rape, child molestation, torture, mayhem, arson, and murder.
For the majority of her career, Stone has specialized in prosecution of sexual assault and domestic violence cases. She tried the first “Roofie” rape case in the nation and is a national consultant for drug-related sexual assaults. She lectures on criminal investigations and trial strategies, including the art of interrogation.
Stone prosecuted the driver in the Mandeville Canyon Case in 2008 where the driver intentionally slammed on his breaks in front of several cyclists injuring them. The driver was found guilty of six felonies and one misdemeanor as a result of the incident.
